Thassos island is only accessible by ferry boat and has two ports, Skala Prinos and Limenas (Thassos Town) which are serviced respectively from Kavala and Keramoti on the mainland.
FROM KAVALA
The ferry from Kavala runs to Skala Prinos and has a journey time of one and a quarter hours with a maximum of 5 sailings per day in the summer. When you arrive in Skala Prinos turn right at the ring road at Skala Prinos and continue past Prinos, Skala Sotiros, Skala Kallirachis, Skala Maries until you reach the area of Tripiti near Limenaria.
FROM KERAMOTI
From Keramoti port the ferry boat arrives at Limenas (Thassos Town), the capital of Thassos Island. The journey time is 35 minutes and there are regular sailings, normally every half an hour during the summer. From Limenas, car or bus, turn right at the ring road and follow the signs for Prinos from there it is the same as the above directions (Kavala/Skala Prinos).
VIA AIRPLANE
The closest airport to Thassos is Kavala Airport (Megas Alexandros Airport) which is close to Chrisoupolis just 17 km’s from the port of Keramoti. There is an all year round daily service to Athens and during the summer hosts charter flights from all over Europe.
